 Just to put it out there in computer space Roost Reimagined, my family, and friends are throwing a huge GARAGE SALE in two weeks at the Barn. 

May 27, 28, 29 which is a Friday, Saturday, and Sunday

From 10-5 each day. 

We are all cleaning out our barns, homes, attics, and garages.  I have to mention this is a GARAGE SALE not a Roost EVENT. 

All items are priced to sell.

Busy week to come...

So this week I am gun-ho focusing on getting ready for Junk Salvation in Puyallup, WA.  I know a LONG WAY for us to go.  But we had so much fun in Hillsborro in February with the Junk Salvation Girls that we just HAD to do it.

I have so many projects that I have started on that need finishing, but I had to put them aside today to finish this custom order that I have been waiting to start for about 8 months. I know that sounds horrible that it has been 8 months since I took the order but the couple had come through my booth at the Deepwood Antique Show last September and wanted to do a custom order on some hammered spoons that I had been selling at the time. The problem was that they didn't know what to put on them quite yet. They ended up buying the spoons and asked me to hold on to them until they were ready to be stamped. At the time I was thinking I can't remember where I keep my favorite hat how was I going to keep track and keep safe (as they paid for them) these spoons for longer than a week. But I said okay and put them in my drawer for later. This last weekend at the grand spring opening sale at the barn the same couple (which I kept in contact with off and on) showed up with what they wanted stamped on the spoons. As I was so happy that I actually knew where the spoons were I wanted to knock out this project as soon as possible. So here is how they turned out...

Sayings stamped and I added black paint on to the stamp so that the stamp would be more pronounced.

 I then cleaned off the paint

 Here are all but 3 lined up and finished

All in all for the 15 spoons to be hammered, stamped, painted, and cleaned it took about 3 hours.  Definitly a labor of love if you make these for a gift.

Moving day!

So today was quite the day.  I started out with so much ambition and excitement.  I LOVE the last couple days before a show.  There is always the scramble to complete projects, the impromptu things that get thrown together and look amazing, and of course the occasional breakage that is always sad to find. 

However today I was thrown a curve ball in the shape of my son Ethan calling from school saying he was sick.  Not the kind of day I had planned but I rushed home (as I was already knee deep in boxes at the barn) and picked him up from school.  I ended up getting a lot of snuggles and hugs which he rarely gives me and some household chores done that I had put on the back burner do to the sale this weekend. 

After my husband got home from work I dashed off to the barn to reclaim my ambition and excitement and found it there among the boxes and boxes and boxes that are piled high.  I have so much more to unpack and arrange and I hope I can get through it all in time.
