Vendor Highlights for the Heritage Holiday Faire

This year has really flown by for me personally and for my "Roost" business.  What started out as a "upscale garage sale" at my barn a few years ago has grown into a passion for presentation, a job, a building block for friendships and so much more.  I have been so honored that my Roost fans continue to support me and others in my line of business by buying local and participating in the events that I am a part of.

In keeping with the events that I am a part of....

In less then 2 weeks there will be an amazing Holiday faire at the Willamette Heritage Center (AKA: Mission Mill Museum)  I have teamed up with the gift shop in the museum called Danner & Soli.  We have called on our friends, business contacts, local artists, and other local business' to all come together and offer a sort of "one stop shopping" experience for all your holiday decor, gifts, and entertaining needs.  Last year we had about 20 vendors and this year we have doubled the vendors to 40!

I have been asked to join in on the summer fun at Aunt Bee's House. 

They are having a ONE DAY ONLY Parking lot sale to kick off the Summer. 

 I am so excited to be a part of it.  I've been feeling a little edgy not being able to stage some vignettes and I've also been on a buying spree so it's starting to pile up again in my garage.

The Farmhouse Sale in Turner, Oregon

 So I was so bummed yesterday...  I went out to the Turner Tabernacle to help Dianne of Molly Mo's set up for the Farmhouse Show and I was so overwhelmed with all the goodies and eye candy that was coming through the door I completely forgot to get pictures of the event.  Then today as I walked through the door then again the same thing happened!  I was so excited about this and that I forgot to grab the pictures again!  So for all my blogger friends I am sorry for letting you down. 

I don't have the photos of the show but I still can tell you how great of a show it is.  All of you locals have to check it out!  Make sure you hit Mandy up at Cafe Venae for a latte.  Her red velvet cupcakes with cloudburst frosting are AMAZING!

Turning recycled windows into fun herb garden green house.

So awhile back I saw this article in  Romantic Homes issue it looked a little like this But of course was decorated with tons of wonderful shrubbery and chandeliers.  I have kept the article although it is now dogeared and creased but some day I will have to get around to making one for my very own. 

  Meanwhile, while browsing in a local shop called Aunt Bee's House I found a tabletop version that the owner of the store had commissioned to be made. I thought it was really cute.  Here is a picture of it. 

So I decided to attack that old pile of windows that I have been saving and create a mini sized one as well.  So here is my version that I came up with.  It's 48" long, 38" wide, and about 5ft tall when all set up.

 Here I did a slap coat of paint that I'll eventually have to scrape off.  I'm not one for masking off things although I should probably start thinking ahead.... Naaaaa more fun going with the flow!

I decided that I should add a door to keep little critters out.  Or keep Mandy (my dog) in?  I don't really think she likes her little palace.  She looks a little leery.

 All in all is was a great little project that used these materials (all my materials were reclaimed and recycled)

(4) door hinges (for the door and roof)

(75-100) 2 1/2" screws

From start to finish this project will take you about 12 hours to complete. Estimated cost will be between $80.00-$200.00 it really depends on how much you pay for your windows.  I will be selling this Vintage inspired green house at our upcoming show for $165.



Heritage Spring Faire Vendor Profiles

The Spring Heritage Faire is swiftly approaching and I haven't yet named the rest of the vendors. 

Here are the remaining vendors of the show.

First off today is a gal with enormous talent.  She creates some amazing heirloom quality jewelry.  She uses lots of old vintage jewelry and sometimes throws in some unexpected bits and pieces of other things to create some really great pieces.

My next vendor to introduce is...
Jana Gottfried

Jana creates hand knit felted handbags and hats. She uses 100% wool in each item she creates.  In using 100% wool the product is good for you and good for the environment. Carol Curtis

Carol is a local seamstress that has taken kitchen fashion to a new level.  She has the most adorable kitchen aprons that she changes with the seasons.  She also offers a large selection of handmade soaps and fun little seasonal pillows and home accessories.

She has aptly named herself as she carries little bits and pieces of whatever.  I simply LOVED her fall and christmas line and am really looking forward to what she brings in for spring.

is another local crafter that has joined us I only have one photo to share but these ladies do some wonderful quality work.  They make dolls, kids accessories, and more

There are several other wonderful and creative ladies that will be joining in the show but do not have blogs, pictures, or an official name but are nonetheless on our roster for the show because they have some great wares for you to purchase. So you will have to wait and see what other surprises are in store for you on April 15th and 16th at the Mission Mill.

Also first 60 ladies in the door on Friday night will recieve a great gift bag of goodies provided by some of the vendors in the show.  Believe me when I tell you not to miss out!
