Super fun day JUNKIN!!! at the Portland Swap Meet

Today I had a blast junkin with my family... each setting out for completely different purposes.  My brother was looking for industrial pieces for his room, my dad antique cars, my mom textiles and fun finds and me well I grabbed a little bit of everything!  My son hung out in the super fly wagon and organized my great purchases.  I  have been attending this HUGE swap meet ever since I was around 8 years old but never did I see the endless possibilities of materials available all in one location.  There was so many great rusty pieces, textiles, old papers and textures.  I wish I would have taken my camera and snapped some shots.   I wish I would have gotten there a little earlier because I only made it through about 1/3 of the show.

Well here is what I came away with in the end....

This was a fun find  a metal in that used to have Vaseline in it.  This has some really great texture and rust to it
This is a wooden book that opens up to this...
I have a secret love for old bottles I can't pass them up.  So of course I had to grab these...
I also got a really great rusty spring bench seat that I have some fun ideas for.  More to come on that idea...

To sum up the trip... well worth the drive and on my way out of the gate I found out that it's Ladies Day tomorrow and ALL ladies get free entry so maybe you want to check it out tomorrow.

Thanks for checking it out!  More vendor profiles for the Heritage Faire to be posted soon.
