A New Year and a FRESH Start

There will be several changes for Roost this year. To start I am changing my events at the barn this year from monthly to quarterly starting with our grand Opening in May. With this change it opens some doors for me to be able to concentrate on doing more offsite shows which I have learned to LOVE! I will be posting my calendar this week for the events that I will be concreatly participating in this year.

Another change which some of you might have noticed if you visited my booth at Girls Back Porch this week is that I have moved out. This was a bittersweet move for me because I love the "Girls" there but with everything else that I have going I couldn't keep my booth looking 100% and I had to let something go before I slipped into a comma trying to keep up. I am super excited to see the changes that will be going on in the store as there is a new owner and some great new vendors moving in.

I spent all day in my quaint little room at Aunt Bee's House today and took EVERYTHING out of the whole room and replaced it with spring garden wonder! I hope that you enjoy browsing through there and let me know what you think. I forgot to snap some pictures so I'll get them tomorrow and post them later.

My first off site show this year will be the Junk Salvation Show in Portland on February 5th. For more information on the show and who will be there check out http://funkyjunksisters.blogspot.com

Fun weekend creations

This weekend started off really creative for me. Last night I felt like a Pirate in a treasure box. I've been stocking up on fun vintage embellishments and chains for awhile now but i just haven't been in the "creative mode" lately. So when I opened the rubber maid container and started digging I couldn't stop. I made about 10 upcycled necklaces but here are just a couple to get the idea...

Then this morning I dug through my storage and found this great laundry basket frame. I had intended to make this into a cool light fixture but decided to stick with the basket but give it an airy french feel to it. I really like how it turned out.

Then came the project that I actually intended to do all along... My tree skirt for this year. I saw one at the Tarte Sale in Oregon City last month and I loved it. It was made out of white linen and had a ton of ruffles to it and was adorable. So I filed it away in my to do list in my brain and just got to it this weekend. I instead went on the cheaper range of fabrics and chose canvas and went a little more understated with only a fringe ruffle. But its simplicity is perfect for me.

Thanks for checking out this weekend's projects!

Dreaming of a white Christmas

I dream of cream this year in my house...
(pictures aren't great due to camera phone but I thought I'd share all the same)
It was definitely weird decorating this year as this is my first year making product for the Christmas season. As I started creating stuff in October I feel like Christmas should be over by now. I had a little trouble finding my "Christmas Spirit" but with a glass of wine and a little old Charlie Brown music I eventually got into the spirit.
Mantle is a little over done but I too many great pieces!

I am sooo in LOVE with this Christmas Fairy! My next project will be making some of these adorable girls. They are so Frenchy Chic!

My dining room Centerpiece is better in person but it also needs 6 weeks to grow. I can't wait until the bulbs bloom in to papery white blooms.

Well thanks for taking a peak into my ROOST and Happy Holidays to all out there!
