First Birthday for Miss A!

So Birthday parties and well any parties are kinda my "thing".  I absolutely adore planning them, putting them on, and pouring over pictures later.  I have had 11 years of boy parties which have been fun but when we found out that we were expecting a girl I was over the moon!  Girl parties are SOOOOOOOOO much fun and have SOOOOOOOO many possibilities.

For her 1st Birthday I wanted to do a "crown" theme.

Starting with the Invitation is a good start kinda sets the stage for the party.
Here is How Miss A's turned out
These were the sites that I used for inspiration.
For the invitations I used this blog as an inspiration HERE
For the monogram I used this store as inspiration HERE

On to the PARTY!

I did get really carried away with Pinterest this time.  You can check out my "Birthday Girl" page and grab some more ideas there.

These tassels were a wonderful texture and a pop of color.
HERE is a really great tutorial on how to make them

Everyone loves a good "Cake Smash"
Miss A didn't really get into it though she was too proper

She ended up trying to touch the candle though but we did catch her in time

She was a little hesitant about trying to touch the cake again though

Eventually she got it...

I Adore this face... "You are NOT going to take this away"

As the party winded down so did our sugar highed baby and it was time to take a nap.  As I was changing her to put her to bed when my mom snapped this last picture of her and it was my absolute favorite of the day

Hope this inspires you!

Vintage Trifles Studio Play date

I had such a wonderful time today.  My great friend Martha from Vintage Trifles hosted a wonderful play date at her house here in Salem.  In this class she taught us how to create these wonderful paper cakes that are made from recycled books.  I have been looking forward to this class for a whole year!

Last year if you look back on my blog in February we made these wonderful passports of our past and we had such a blast. After the class was over she had asked us what we would like to do for the next class and we had suggested the cake books.

For the past month I have been pondering what the theme of my cake would be and then I realized that I have a baby shower coming up that I am planning and these would be
a wonderful addition to my buffet and also my decor.
The theme that I am going for with the shower is "Feather her Nest"

So here is my "Cake":

After the class was finished I was lucky enough to spend some extra time in the studio with Martha and my wonderful friends Betty and Carol.  We had so much fun chatting with a little wine and brownies.  well me being me I just couldn't help myself and started on these adorable buffet markers.
I will be using these for the food for the shower here is how they turned out:

I used some salvage wood pieces that I picked up from my "second mom" Lisa from Randall Wood Estates.  I think they just turned out darling!  Oh and for the little bird images I used my favorite blog Graphics Fairy I just copied, pasted, and printed them out in the size that I wanted.

If you ever get a chance to go to one of these studio classes DO NOT HESITATE!
They are soooooo fun!  Check out Martha's blog for more info on future classes and pictures of the gals and the cakes that they made there are some really adorable cakes that were made!

Thanks for checking my little project out!

And don't forget next month is the 3 Friends Sale!
Martha at Vintage Trifles
Dianne at Molly Mo's
and of course me with Roost Reimagined will all be open
March 17th 9am-4pm

Vendor Highlights for the Heritage Holiday Faire

This year has really flown by for me personally and for my "Roost" business.  What started out as a "upscale garage sale" at my barn a few years ago has grown into a passion for presentation, a job, a building block for friendships and so much more.  I have been so honored that my Roost fans continue to support me and others in my line of business by buying local and participating in the events that I am a part of.

In keeping with the events that I am a part of....

In less then 2 weeks there will be an amazing Holiday faire at the Willamette Heritage Center (AKA: Mission Mill Museum)  I have teamed up with the gift shop in the museum called Danner & Soli.  We have called on our friends, business contacts, local artists, and other local business' to all come together and offer a sort of "one stop shopping" experience for all your holiday decor, gifts, and entertaining needs.  Last year we had about 20 vendors and this year we have doubled the vendors to 40!

Here is a quick preview of some of the vendors:
